The Minister of Education and TBC sign a contract to finance, design and build 60 public schools in Makkah and Jeddah in partnership with the private sector

‎‏His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh and Tatweer Building Company (TBC),  a government company owned by the Public Investment Fund, signed the agreements for the School Buildings Wave 1 project to finance, design, build and manage the facilities of 60 public schools in Makkah and Jeddah. The project is being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme and once completed will serve more than 50 thousand male and female students.
‎‏His Excellency the Minister of Education extend his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their keenness and continuous support of the Saudi education.
‎‏H.E. the Minister extended his thanks and appreciation to the organizations that supported the partnership projects with the private sector in general and this project specifically such as the Ministry of Finance, the National Center for Privatization and PPP, and the National Program to Support the Management of Projects in Public Entities (Mashroaat). Moreover, His Excellency praised the role played by the Ministry and Tatweer Building Company (TBC) in coordination with all relevant government organizations to obtain the necessary approvals, and to overcome all difficulties that enable the implementation of PPP projects.
‎‏Dr. Al Sheikh announced that TBC had launched the RFQ for the Scool Buildings wave 2 in Medina, which is a continuation of the success of the Ministry of Education’s implementing the PPP program. H.E. went on to stress that the Ministry of Education always seeks to develop and improve the educational environment for male and female students and sector employees, canthus contributing to the achievement of the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision aspirations.
‎‏H.E. Assistant Minister of Education, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al-Fahid, said that this occasion coincides with the sixth anniversary of the pledge of allegiance to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz that we will be inspired on this anniversary by what the various national sectors have witnessed in this prosperous era of generous care, unlimited support, positive transformations and achievements at all levels, confirming the wisdom of our leader and His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and their great aspiration for the prosperous present and bright future of Saudi Arabia, as it comes on the threshold of the Kingdom’s presidency of the G20 (the largest global economic system) and succeeding the preparations for this summit.
‎‏Dr. Al-Fahid pointed out that the partnership between the public and private sectors is one of those positive transformations that our endeared country is witnessing in accordance with the goals and aspirations of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, to include increasing private sector contribution from 40% to 60%. From this point comes the role of partnership projects between the Ministry of Education and the private sector within the construction, maintenance and transfer path to raise the efficiency of educational facilities in accordance with best international practices, and to develop and improve the educational environment, which will positively affect the performance of male and female students, male and female teachers, and all sector employees.
‎‏The CEO of TBC, Engineer Fahad Al-Hammad, explained that the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Education and the company resulted in several different projects and initiatives to support the education sector in the Kingdom. Among them, providing educational buildings, which aims to achieve maximum benefit from the sector’s expertisein improving, developing and raising the efficiency of educational facilities, at the same time appreciating the role of the working teams participating in this initiative from the Ministry of Finance, the National Center for Privatization and PPP, for their great cooperation while working on implementing the initiative as one team and bringing this national achievement to be added to the list of national achievements and acquisitions in the Kingdom.
‎‏Mr. Muhammad Abu-Nayyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Global Vision Investment Company, one of the founding partners of (Ajyad  knowledge Company for Education and Training), in partnership with (Al-Mutlaq Group Company and Omran Muhammad Al-Omran and Partners Company), expressed his pride in contributing to the implementation of the education sector strategies , which is one of the pillars of achieving The Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He indicated that this vital project is added to the ongoing cooperation and partnership between the public and private sectors; it marks the launch of a new era of investment in education and development initiatives that will contribute to achieving the goals of the two sectors.
