The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch at Alfaisal University organized a lecture entitled: “IEEE – The Value of Membership to Students” on Thursday, April 7th by Eng. Jaafar Al Ibrahim, the Secretary of IEEE Saudi Section. Eng. Jaafar addressed Alfaisal’s engineering community, an audience coming from many different departments. The speaker highlighted the constitution of IEEE as a non-profit organization. He also shed light on the starring role IEEE plays in fostering technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity and how it is considered not only to be essential for its professional members, but for the global technical community. The organization has been universally recognized over the course of the last century for its outstanding contributions in improving technology and global conditions. Eng. Jaafar encouraged engineering students from different majors to join IEEE to enhance their professional journeys as future engineers. A recognition certificate was presented to the speaker by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Nidal Nasser.
