Professor Charles Choguill, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, has been invited to give a keynote address at Texas A & M University in Qatar’s Annual Ethics Week on 1st April. He will be speaking on the Moral Dimensions of Economic Development. The talk will review Professor Choguill’s 42 years of experience working on projects in 15 countries for an array of international institutions. The presentation will focus particularly on the ethical issues of development planning based on examples drawn from his work in Bangladesh and the Philippines. Prior to coming to Saudi Arabia, Professor Choguill was considered a leading expert on urban policy, the development of low-cost infrastructure and housing for low-income groups. He has been editor of the Elsevier journal Habitat International, which deals with human settlements issues, since 1993.
